Larry and Tracey Harmon
have been teaching line dancing in St. Louis, MO and
surrounding area since 1994. They have been presenting a
social dance once a week since 1997. In addition
to their regular weekly classes, they have also taught and
performed in dance demonstrations and shows for company
functions, private parties, benefits, and workshops. Their
acknowledged skill as instructors have resulted in
invitations to teach in numerous locations in the US and
Canada.
In addition to being dance
instructors, they are members of the NTA (National Teacher
Association). The NTA is a nonprofit organization founded
in 1986 to promote Country Western dancing, establish
communication among dance teachers, develop standardized
terminology and school figures, and develop and maintain
high standards for teachers to more effectively instruct
others in the art and practice of Country Western dancing.
Rebels & Rogues, their
company, organizes weddings, anniversaries, parties and
other events. Larry is the DJ and photographer (sometimes
both!) at many of these events and parties.
Larry has an Associate of
Arts Degree in Music Performance (plays trumpet, trombone
and flute) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer
Science with a Minor in Mathematics. When not teaching or
dancing, Larry works as a Systems Administrator. When asked what do
you do for a living, his usual response is, “I play with
computers.” He also enjoys photography. Many of his
photographs can be seen hanging in Missouri state government
buildings and some have been purchased by newspapers. Larry
loves to work with wood. His handiwork is all around their
home and in the past, stores in the St. Louis area sold his
pieces. In his spare time he has created and maintains
their Rebels & Rogues dance website as well as sites for
Jamie Marshall, the Ft. Wayne Showdown, American Masters for
Masters In Line, a couple of non-profit organizations and 4
other companies. Oh yeah, did I mention he is a sports
fanatic? He played football for 10 years, coached it for 14
years, played hockey at the junior college level (and after
college played for more than 10 years, at times against
current and ex-NHL players), dabbled in baseball and
softball along the way and loves to hunt and fish. He’s
waiting to take up golf when he is much older and has to
slow down!
Tracey works for
the world’s leader in precision rotary and
flexible dies, print cylinders and other rotary tooling for
printing presses. International sales and technical support
are just two of her job functions. She also attends trade
shows and trains representatives in the US and abroad. When
Tracey is not dancing she must be sleeping because she
dances all the time! She enjoys reading a good book and has
mastered the science of shopping on the Internet. She is
the best bargain-finder around! Tracey also gets pleasure
from sewing and making crafts. A good deal of her art
and handiwork adorns their home. |
